Overnight Oats

I have a saying, “Every great day starts with a great breakfast!” While we all know the importance of eating a good, nutrient dense breakfast, it’s easy to fall short as we rush out the door to get the kids to school and hustle to work. Some days we have time to slow down and cook a nice egg scramble, but typically we are juggling bottles and poopie diapers as we try to prep for the day. In step Overnight Oats! Ingredients:

1 Cup of Oats (not quick cooking but the whole oats)

1 Cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk

1 Cup of Ascent Whey Protein Powder (you can use any protein powder, but ascent is what we use and it tastes great)

1 TableSpoon (maybe 2 : ) of Almond Butter or Natural Peanut Butter

Directions:

Measure 1 cup of oats, 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, and 1 scoop of ascent protein powder and place in a mason jar or other container with a lid. Next add 1 or 2 tablespoons of your favorite nut butter and mix until the protein powder and nut butter is evenly incorporated. Place in the refrigerator overnight and let sit. Wake up the next morning to a delicious and nutritious start to your day. If you really want to get fancy with it, you can even cut up some fresh fruit to add on top. Enjoy!
